I saw Link Ray once, but I can't remember the name of the club on the west side (in the 50s?) late 1990s or so. Southern Culture on the Skids was opening and I got to talk to them at the bar just before Ray came on. Great show.

Hi Rex and All, Rule has a silent and devastating role in Robert Altman's hypnotic film 3 Women, really fantastic Altmanesque film which also featured great performances from Shelley Duvall and Sissy Spacek. I only knew about her from that film. It's odd to think of her as a 50s Hollywood "girl'.

If you can find a copy of Sanders' Truckstop, grab it! It is chock full of crazy songs like this one. His second album, Beer Cans on the Moon, was a real letdown.
