He wanted to find a friend of his in the bay area, so I called an old friend who was now the librarian at Mills College in Oakland. "What do you want me to do?" she asked. "You're a librarian, find his friend." She did! and let him stay at her house in Berkeley. Happy ending. He came back to L.A. and stayed with me before he flew home to Chile.
