A close friend of mine is in a similar situation -- had a death in the family and a small but still very helpful trust is supposed to go to him. They keep f'n up the paperwork. In the meantime, he's literally living in an illegal sublet that was subdivided into 4 rooms, sharing one bathroom -- 4 older guys total crammed into worse than jail conditions, and even though his credit rating is shot, he'll have enough to be able to to to a landlord in Queens or the BX and pay for a year of renting a studio up front. But in the meantime, the "let's fuck up this guy's paperwork" hits keep coming.

Project managers are often a way people get into this who don't have many specific skills and it can pay pretty well.... Gotta have organizational skills and be comfortable with software and interacting with a ton of possibly irritating people and unreasonable demands...

A close friend of mine is in a similar situation -- had a death in the family and a small but still very helpful trust is supposed to go to him. They keep f'n up the paperwork. In the meantime, he's literally living in an illegal sublet that was subdivided into 4 rooms, sharing one bathroom -- 4 older guys total crammed into worse than jail conditions, and even though his credit rating is shot, he'll have enough to be able to to to a landlord in Queens or the BX and pay for a year of renting a studio up front. But in the meantime, the "let's fuck up this guy's paperwork" hits keep coming.

Project managers are often a way people get into this who don't have many specific skills and it can pay pretty well....
