Obscure musical gems, avant experimentation, and classics worth rehearing. A conurbation of Leslie speakers, timbales, plungers, arch-tops, tablas, and squeaky reeds. Black ties, pork pies, Cuban boots, Nudie suits, bobbysocks, turtlenecks, and high-heeled sneakers. Jazz is the north star but it’s a wide universe, so says The Laughing Clock.

ChatGPT: How about "Frontier Melodies: Saddle Up for Sounds of the Old West"?
DJP: can you make the title more enigmatic
ChatGPT: Sure thing! How about "Whispers from the Dusty Trail: Echoes of Frontier Tunes"?
DJP: that's better! but no subtitle
ChatGPT: Absolutely, keeping it mysterious. How about just "Whispers from the Dusty Trail"?
DJP: can you hint at jazz
ChatGPT: Certainly! How about "Jazzed Trails: Whispers from the Dusty Frontier"?
DJP: but that has a subtitle
ChatGPT: Apologies for that oversight. How about "Jazzed Whispers: Echoes from the Dusty Frontier"?
DJP: no subtitle please
ChatGPT: Got it! How about "Jazzed Trails: Secrets of the Dusty Frontier"?
DJP: how about bringing in something about myth
ChatGPT: Sure thing! How about "Mythic Echoes: Jazzed Trails of the Dusty Frontier"?

Yeah, I get that the "real" west was very multicultural: mixing of Mexican, Chinese, African American, and European immigrant cultures. In L.A. there's a museum named for Gene Autry that includes both movie history and "real" history. I used to think that was weird but now I realize it's very difficult to separate the two. So I guess I'm wondering if Tapscott is a history junkie or if he's signifyin' on pop culture.

Another cool avatar pic btw! Who created that image?

chresti, Cyprus is not a pile of rocks, but it is a space on earth where violence can be imminent. Greeks and Turks lob bombs back and forth now and then. I want to be there, mostly during the times when nobody is lobbing bombs.

Dug the Sanchez Nonet, Amir Elsaffar.
Not sure about "X", may have to grow on me.
The Frissell was wild-very Zorn, wasn't surprised to hear he was involved.
I'm not generally that big a fan of the Pan African Orchestra, but that track was cool (best Tapscott I've heard have Arthur Blythe on them)
The Melford was cool!
Dug that you did the West theme and avoided the most obvious (Sonny Rollins) to do it.
Have a Great week!
