Do you know the British 'magician' (though he never calls himself that) Derren Brown? I once saw him to 'the Oracle Act', which is an old routine from the Victorian / Edwardian era, and it was astonishing.

I have not seen the British "Magician" but I would love to. And it is amazing and wonderful how much really good stuff there was in vaudeville, much of which survives today. I will try to find some of that. I mean, seems like almost everything is on youtube these days

I hadn't seen her in years, but then her father died. At the memorial we sat together, and have been hanging out ever since.
It took her fathers death for us to come together. I asked her one day how this happened. She said: "You're one of the first people I ever remember seen at our house that wasn't my family."
How things happen, I guess.

I wrecked the place - the phones were going crazy - 'Who is that nut!?'
They had no idea what they started.

I mean, Karl and Marty McSorley at least were very psyched.

I saw them in Aylesbury in '84 when they did their Black September tour, and they did this. Ah, to be young again...

I should have seen it as a sign - it was grinding to a halt. It took her another year to move out, but I was to stupid to realize what was happening.

I did it to him twice. After her and I got broke up, I got with one of her friends just like that. He was really steamed, becuase he wanted her too, and she picked me instead!
That's what all this music reminds me of: '78 - '81.
Everbody need a soundtrack for when your life really kicks into gear, and this is it!
Thanks Mary.

U2 were the Alternative Act got the biggest Mainstream success. No way was that gonna be easy...
Hard for me to remember a time I thot U2 was Kewl ...but I know it happened. Then again - I had the early LPs ...but I don't think I ended up spinning them so much... In that Time - was a thing some of us were hoping & searching for a replacement for the Spiritual void left by TheWho aging out. I don't know why nobody sat me down & planted TheClash's first album in my lap & told me to think about it...
