Obscure musical gems, avant experimentation, and classics worth rehearing. A conurbation of Leslie speakers, timbales, plungers, arch-tops, tablas, and squeaky reeds. Black ties, pork pies, Cuban boots, Nudie suits, bobbysocks, turtlenecks, and high-heeled sneakers. Jazz is the north star but it’s a wide universe, so says The Laughing Clock.

RIP Carla Bley.

Quick hi, likely have to catch the show tommow at work!
Looking foward to Irene's tribute to Carla Bley, been missing them so far. (but listening at work, I wind up missing half the show anyway-those bums DO make me work).

That 2021 Mixcloud show sounds good as well (and I DO have most of her stuff on LP/CD, could always just pull them out).

WFMU has definitely made me lazy-why to program my own listening, when such great programming is presented on the Drummer Stream (and other streams)! And I hear stuff I don't know to boot!

I found the duck avatar a few months ago. Jan Turkenburg, www.wfmu.org... who does 3 shows from the Netherlands on the WFMU Sheena stream has a duck alter ego he had done in the past so when I saw the pic knew it is perfect to use when listening to one of his programs.

↳ Song: "Wince" by "Anna Webber"
This group was at Ars Nova a few weeks ago (missed them). Do really like Adam O'Farrill, saw him at a jazz fest not too long ago.
I did see the Webber/Morris Big Band last year, they were terriffic (atr Roulette). The arranging of that band is similar to Shimmer Wince, layering, arpeggiating, shifting textures.

well, i have to laugh at 'matter of opinion'... usual times false equivalency, there are facts, and don't trust friedman's 'punditry'
