This is quite a welcome back show! “In the Garden” is one of my favorite hymns, and I must have a hundred or so versions of it by now. At this point u honestly can’t remember if I learned it from church as a kid or from records I listened to after I quit going.

Pro tip: almost every classic country singer eventually records an album of their favorite gospel hymns, and 95% of them include “In the Garden.” I much prefer the solo versions (from the likes of Merle, Loretta, Possum, and company)—the best can bring out the soul in the song.
