When I was in grade school the music teacher asked me what instrument I wanted to play. I told him the flute and he taught me to make a noise over the mouthpiece. He sent a letter home that said I had an aptitude for the flute. My father responded "We have a trumpet in the house, my son has an aptitude for trumpet."

BFI in london is doing a Time travel = review ..
one really oddball is (only saw a clip - was made '77 under the regimes)
rom Jindrich Polák, director of the 1963 Czech sci-fi classic Ikarie XB-1, comes another foray into science-fiction with this lesser known but equally impressive feature "Tomorrow I'll Wake Up and Scald Myself with Tea." Looks to be fascinating ...

A cop stealthily enters the tract house bedroom of his occasional lover, a young blond woman whose parole he oversees. Her observance of parole consists in passing him information and sleeping with him upon demand. This familiar pornographic formula (where seduction is tinged with sadism in the imposed authority of the police, and linked to the forced prostitution of an innocent looking wide-eyed victim) is enacted in a scene that renders the male body as spectacle. While the woman remains in the bed where she has just awakened, the cop, backlit by dawn light through the window which frames him, performs a rapid striptease that ends in a pose, arms folded, legs apart - an aggressive full frontal display reminiscent of male nude magazines. This almost parodic rehearsal of a stylized porn scenario is one of the two moments of heterosexual sex that punctuate William Freidkin's To Live and Die in LA (1985).
