Hello. There were some random songs before, but the stream is silent for me at the moment.

Yep, it’s gone all John Cage on us.

Five seconds of chaos and back to silence.

Heard a brief blast of something and now nothingness again.

Hey, Bill. I restarted my Radio Rethink app, but it's still silent.

Hi to all!

Rich in Washington:

it seems to indicate that you’re on the stream but it says (NULL) when viewed in a player. Perhaps check your audio source in whichever streaming softwate you’re using. Also, rebooting your computer often solves lots of problems.

This song is unsual for the 80's! The first time I heard it was in one of your movies and loved it! I'd say it has a doomy groove, but it is not full blown doom to my taste.
Avatar 12:47pm
Bill Zebub:

OSS., yes, I was going to say that it is doom in some ways but can't quite be put into that category.
Avatar 12:51pm
Mr Fab:

Hail, Bill! Sounds like you had your own vortex of (technical) chaos to deal with. Thanks to Rich for the help.

Def chaos here at my end as well, but think i'm finally settled in and ready to rock.

Bill, i saw you filled in for Ken on the mothership the other day! Did you meniton your new home here? Judging by the comments you picked up some new fans.
Avatar 12:57pm
Bill Zebub:

Mr. Fab, yes, I ,mentioned the Sheena show, but the first 20 minutes were boogered up. My curse is that I can only succeed if I fail at the same time.

I posted the URL in the comments so that people who tune in to the archive will see my new life.

Welcome to the dark mass, new listener peoples!
  1:11pm
OSS:

I had a really good friend once that knew little about Metal as a whole, when I told her about all the subgenres and styles that existed, she just looked at me as I was nuts and said, "are you fucking kidding me?" haha
Avatar 1:15pm
Mr Fab:

↳ OSS @1:11
Ha, yeah, I read an interview with a band (forget who) who said" We're just heavy metal." They refuse to get sucked in to that whole sub-sub-sub genre thing.

Electronic music was like that. Techno/rave/house/dubstep/ambient/happy-house/ IDM etc etc. Even tho it's all disco.
Avatar 1:19pm
Mr Fab:

sorry, it's "happy hardcore," not happy house. A sub genre of "hardcore." Not to be confused with "gabber."
Avatar 1:21pm
Mr Fab:

we need to cross metal with house, and create "haunted house," har har.
  1:21pm
OSS:

Some subgenres are legi, but then when marketing people get ahold of music, you get the most stupid categories thrown around. It can be quite infuriating.
Avatar 1:22pm
Bill Zebub:

I might play something for Mr. Fab in a few songs
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm
spodiodi:

↳ Mr Fab @1:15
"it's all disco" so true :)
and "haunted house" is hilarious
Avatar 1:39pm

↳ Song: "Abuse" by "Forlorn"
Why thank you Bill. Hey, this is my kinda dance music. Boppin around to it now.
Avatar 1:42pm
Mr Fab:

Yes, when I fill in for this show next week, I will still be keeping things dark. Not metal tho, more like: crime, noir, sin, decadence. There are many shades of darkness after all.
Avatar 👻 1:45pm
Jacob666:

Long live the King.
  1:48pm
OSS:

I shall do my best to be here Mr Fab
Avatar 1:51pm
Mr Fab:

Thanks, OSS! I actually will be featuring a former metal band, Bohren & der Club of Gore, who traded rock for pure atmospherics. So it will be a lower volume level next week, but darker than ever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm
Andrew Waterloo:

Bohren is one of the more interesting bands I've seen live.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm
Andrew Waterloo:

Dee Snyder talked about having a choice between being obscure and being super famous
  1:56pm
OSS:

andrew, it is obvious what he chose!
Avatar 1:56pm
Mr Fab:

↳ Andrew Waterloo @1:52
Wow! When they were still metal, or later?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm
Andrew Waterloo:

When they moved from being a club band to an MTV band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm
Andrew Waterloo:

He said he wished he fought for something in between.

They sold out, and it worked well because he has now sold his publishing for millions and has settled into retirement from music, so he gave the YES that was needed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm
Andrew Waterloo:

@OSS I knew Dee did well I'm sure about the rest of the band. Dee has such an outsized presence... he really defined himself with with the PMCR appearance.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm

Dee Snyder, Frank Zappa and John Denver... such an unlikely group ... bless them
