The whole "space is a vacuum" thing never really hit with me.
There's solar winds right? So wind is a component of weather by definition.
If space IS a vacuum is it an Electrolux canister model or a Kirby upright?
Oh the questions I have that will most likely never be answered :)

When I transferred all my vinyl LP's to digital files I saved them in 3 formats, MP3 because that's what my car can play via a thumb drive, flash drive, dongle (what 'ere you wish to call that thing), AIFF for use with iTunes and FLAC for the hell of it because it was listed as having the best quality but I have no idea what to play them on.
Bell Labs was the earliest co-developer of the AAC codec along with many of the bigger electronics companies like Sony,Phillips & others also Microsoft.
Got my electronics education via Bell Labs/DeVry

Jagger / Richards had to list KD Lang as a co-writer on
"Waiting for a Friend" after Keith's daughters pointed out to their Dad (pre-release) that the songs were very similar.
They actually started singing KD's words to Keith while he played it for them (so the story goes in Keith's book "Life").
Jagger & Richards claimed they'd never heard her song, but you know sometimes we hear things in the background & it gets into the sub-conscious.
They did the right thing.

But meanwhile, all week long, oil stock prices have risen with WTI prices projected to be over $100.00 barrel soon if not already. The energy sector has been the biggest earner as well.
an unintended consequence?
All things are connected.
Always remember that IF those who control the petroleum markets (very rich people) turn off the taps suddenly, we will be plunged into darkness & a worldwide financial depression.
While big oil is somewhat "regulated" by the govt., they are still, private companies and can do as they please.
The failings of governments to address this problem over the last 30-40 years is taking it's toll & trying to remedy it instantly is not the answer.
Unfortunately, I don't have the answer either

Watch for oil prices to rise as we get closer to our national election, fomenting anger against those who are trying to wean us off oil.

Energy prices are speculative based on future production.
The market is betting on supply increasing but demand is still increasing along with it.
I don't see demand decreasing only prices going up.
A thought..if the U.S. went "all electric" do you think electric prices would go down?
I sincerely doubt that.
Those same rich people control that market so what happens is just a lateral shifting of wealth from big oil to big electric.
The e grid in the US is also quite antiquated in many parts of the country so that needs immediate attention.
There's lots to consider.
Rural areas like where I live have no access to nat. gas as there's no delivery system here (municipal).
I heat with oil, my hot water is electric (dependent on a most likely petroleum fired generation plant) and I cook with bottled LP gas.
No mass transit here so I need a car.
At 65 I can't afford a new electric vehicle or the costs to install a charger & the increased electric bill that would come with that.
It's not as easy as some think it is.
I would like it to be, but that's not realistic thinking.
As I said I don't have the answer but I'm constantly reading, studying & thinking, looking for it.
