My first hardcore band in high school was called Sullen Mugshot. The scene was crowded, there were like 18 other bands, so we tried to incorporate Soul elements and renamed to Georgia Mugshot. Didn't work out, turned out our band of suburban white kids were even worse at Soul than hardcore

Frankly, I think the reporting is in bad faith. The Times reports, as if it were mere fact: "The statement that all of their facial expressions convey unmistakably? Defiance." How does the reporter know? Even if it were so, so what? There's something admirable about telling the criminal justice system to screw itself, even if you are indeed a crook.
