One thing I find interesting to think about with this collection - is the Velvets & SanFrancisco are supposed to be totally antithetical to each other - but they played there ...& I think on evidence they stretched out like everybody did when they discovered the SF situations there in those venues & with those audiences. Tho of course we conceive of the Velvets as charting their own course anyhow... As Cale said - they were going in pursuit of something when they played - & you could come along or not as you chose...
