AM Radio transmission follows the curvature of the terrain (sorry flat Earthers) and as such is very affected by weather conditions (low cloud decks etc.).
As a kid in Bergen Co.,NJ I had this little radio/record player & when conditions were right I'd listen to sports games from as far away as Chicago & Cincinatti.

Just for clarity, my statement is a reply to morphes' joke, not a stab at anyone's beliefs.
However, my take on all religion is believe or not is a personal choice.
I choose not to, based personal experiences & on the simple fact (to me) that once things are organized the power struggle begins.
