Good morning Jeremiah. Nice to be back. You were away a couple of weeks and then I was away in Switzerland last weekend. I like the beginning!

Did I ever mention the album "Pyhä Veri Virtaa" by Pelkkä Poutanen? I got to see her live this week at the Kaustinen Folk Festival with my ex (and current good friend) doing sound engineering for live electronics, and it somehow was reminded of it by this piece. The album is amazing, and the shows were even more so. YLE (public breadcasting network) recorded some of it, and it starts around 1:18:00 on this link: areena.yle.fi...

Nice. Thanks for the link. I think you sent me her bandcamp page and I checked it out.

You guys in Finland have such great summer music festivals. And a lot of good concerts too (but sadly many are on weekdays and I cannot only come to Helsinki on weekends)
Avatar 3:52am
Jeremiah:

Hello Oxford
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54am
fred:

↳ Mr. Oxford @3:51
Maybe some of them could come over your way if there's a suitable venue. It's not that far, and it could be an easy way to fill a tour schedule gap
Avatar 3:57am
Mr. Oxford:

↳ fred @3:54
Well, I live in Estonia and many artists (at least International ones) usually do not come down here if they are touring nearby Sweden and Finland. Weekend gigs in Helsinki (and even in Stockholm), for example, are possible to attend for me. Actually, I should not be complaining. There are some opportunities and I should be grateful for those.

If you can get some time off work, and it isn't already sold out, this festival looks like it will be pretty epic indeed epikset.fi...

Same in Paris, but because of a lack of midsize venues. There's little between the basement of a bar and an arena, so interesting bands don't come anymore. Are there cool venues in Estonia?
Avatar 4:11am
Mr. Oxford:

↳ Don in Tampere @4:02
This looks cool. Was never aware that North East Finland also has such festivals. But sadly can't make it. Thanks for the info though, perhaps next year

Really? In Paris?! That is surprising.

Well in the Estonian capital city of Tallinn, we have a small music venue/bar called Sveta Baar. The Japanese noise/metal band Boris came here a few months ago. Other than that, we have big auditoriums where certain pop/rock musicians would show up. Iggy Pop surprisingly did a show in such an auditorium last year and it was great.

The thing with Estonia is that it is a small country and the focus is on local acts, which area really not that diverse.

Boris, wow!
Sometimes it takes just one person to bring a place on the map.
A friend basically single-handedly built a scene for bands from Latvia over here, but she moved to Switzerland
