Hi Hubig Pie. Last week a commenter had Lorre in their "avatar." I noted it and the Whatevers started talking about Peter L. The DJ said they'd do a Lorre segment.

- Conceptually, I realize it’s Not groundbreaking or anything… yet, Peter Lorre lends himself to this motif quite wonderfully.
Many kudos 👏 & doffed hats 🎩 to Ms Wing and company. Let Free-Form ring-out 🛎️ & reign 👑 forever.

"The Peter Lorre voice in the 1947 Spike Jones RCA Victor recording of the song "My Old Flame". When talking softly, the voice sounds much like Lorre.[15] When the character segués into a manic rant for a few lines, the voice anticipates the Ludwig Von Drake characterization. Frees appeared on several other Spike Jones recordings including "Pop Corn Sack" also from 1947 in which he provided the voices of Charles Boyer, Edward G. Robinson, Katharine Hepburn and Al Jolson."

"Punk cabaret band The World/Inferno Friendship Society's 2007 album Addicted to Bad Ideas: Peter Lorre's Twentieth Century is a concept album written as a tribute to Lorre, focusing on the transition from Weimar Germany to the Third Reich, and Lorre's later career and death. The World/Inferno Friendship Society's lead singer Jack Terricloth describes Lorre as "a strangely charismatic, extremely creepy person, which I think most punk rockers can identify with ... It's the lure of the other. He's the underdog, the outsider."
