I suspected that New Orleans fair was doomed when Bob Hope did a special there for Texico and NBC. The special was pulled from YouTube. I guess they had to cover thier tracks.

I was a crewman on the CGC Eagle. Square rigged sailing ship. We were part of the first week festivities for the Nola World's Fair. The French built a gondola over the Mississippi but it was taken down a few years later. Supposedly shots were being fired at it from the Fischer housing project on the West Bank. All that's left is the Riverwalk shopping mall. Some local friends said they loved it tho.
