Really glad to hear some Billy Squier, always liked him and thought he got a raw deal when his career tanked because of that video of him prancing around in a pink sweatshirt. A few years back I got curious about what happened to him, and thankfully the story has a happy ending: it turns out that one of his beats is one of the most sampled beats in hip hop, which has netted him lots of royalties. Last I checked, he was living at the Dakota with his wife (a former German women's soccer star) and is very involved in Central Park conservancy. Also, here's a bit of music trivia that blew my mind: future Dead Kennedys bassist Klaus Fluoride and Squier were once in a band together in Boston.

A few years back I got curious about what happened to him, and thankfully the story has a happy ending: it turns out that one of his beats is one of the most sampled beats in hip hop, which has netted him lots of royalties. Last I checked, he was living at the Dakota with his wife (a former German women's soccer star) and is very involved in Central Park conservancy. Also, here's a bit of music trivia that blew my mind: future Dead Kennedys bassist Klaus Fluoride and Squier were once in a band together in Boston.
