Hi a great big hello from London at 2:13

was gonna say this reminded me of Can then I remembered Buckley actually did front Can once
  9:15pm
FG:

Sorry--that was Tim Hardin actually who fronted Can for 2 shows

Got in a huge argument with Can and threw a TV through a window

Maybe Tim Buckley didn't front Can, but he was on The Monkees. That counts for something, right?

Frank Zappa was on the Monkees show too, wasn't he? He was in that Monkees film Head too. The Monkees were pretty cool...part of the Laurel Canyon scene.

He was! I saw Tim Buckley opening for Frank Zappa.

Jack Nicholson was also briefly seen in the movie HEAD. A classic must-see which alters ones perspective on the Monkeys and pop entertainment in general.

When we were kids, we had an issue of a Monkees comic book. I wonder what became of it.

In the story, the boys got jobs at a zoo and the boss told one of them to feed the lions and tigers, too. A bit later, he said he finished feeding the lion his ants and it was time to feed the tiger some stew. Har!

I had a fun chat with Mickey Dolenz at a party at Sundance Film Festival many years ago about the movie. He was laughing a lot about it and saying how much fun they had making it. I told him I was envious about him getting to blow up a Coca - Cola machine in the desert. He gave a big Mickey grin.

Not that it matters at this late date when all the ridiculous competitive baloney between Los Angles and San Francisco seemed so important. But two of The Monkees appreciators were Jimi Hendrix AND Jerry Garcia!

Jack Nicholson co-wrote Head. Here's a good article: https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/jack-nicholson-collaborated-with-the-monkees/

Bob Rafaelsons first movie as a Director. He then worked with Jack on Five Easy Pieces. I feel it is under-rated because it was confusing satire and social commentary that the young Monkee fans didn't get. I've watched it several times and still enjoy it.
