74? So you're two weeks younger than my brother (maybe, he was born in Korea, and they have a different system for birth dates)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm
Michael 98145:

{ The original version by Jacques Brel is rather macabre, but Jacks had an earnest inspiration for his reworking of the song: his good friend developed leukemia, and was given just six months to live. "He was gone in four months," Jacks told us. "He was a very good friend of mine, one of my best friends, and he said I was the first one that he told. I remembered this song of an old man dying of a broken heart, and I liked some of the melody and there was something there. I rewrote the song about him." }

{ Originally "Le Moribond" ("The Dying Man"), this was written and performed in French by the Belgian poet-composer Jacques Brel in 1961. The American poet Rod McKuen translated the lyrics to English }

Curious. McKuen published his translation ("adaptation") in his book of the same name. According to Wikipedia, Jacks further tweaked the lyrics, but is uncredited for those changes.

This โ€œDisciplineโ€ album era of King Crimson was my initial focus for the band. I had heard the legendary 1st 1969 album, but wasnโ€™t aware of their history until after attending a touring show of Discipline era at Savoy NYC
Nov 1981. I didnโ€™t even know that Fripp infamously sat down during concerts. All was a revelation for this 16 year old. Finally seeing Bruford (a drum hero) was magnificent. Loved that Bruford came up front to play the wooden drum for that Sheltering Sky.
And Mr Belew , well he Blew me away (see what I did there ?๐Ÿ˜‰). Levin on stick bass !

The title of an actual dissertation, Oxford U., 1989:
The language of Vout, and its applications as a discrete melloroonee abstraction.
The abstract: Odiggitt, with the flat foot floogie and the floy, floy; get a cement-mixer (puttee, puttee), add some groove-juice (oreenee), and mix a little essence of scootie-sparrow-McReenee in there. Then you get an avocado, tie a piece of string through it, nail it to the ceiling and let it vout for a while. The most important thing is, don't worry about things you can't do anything about. VOUTMissing data.
