Wendy's the only FMUvian I've encountered irl - @ a Robyn Hitchcock show in Brattleboro. I didn't have a ticket that day - said so on faceborg ...& the local mortician blocks away - introduced herself - & said her hubby wasn't going & she had an extra ticket - & brought me ! So ...all that... I know it was Wendy for real cause she had Cheese for Robyn.

my grandparents lived in Moundsville, WV (just south of Wheeling). When my parents heard me listening to Harry Smith's anthology, they were incredulous. I never heard anything 'country' growing up. Everyone of my parents' generation left WV after college, and did everything possible to avoid the hillbilly stereotype (while, myself, being a native, did everything to embrace it [i was born before my parents left the state])

I once saw my favorite dancer get the Coltrane part in a dance show on A Love Supreme. With painstaking analysis of the score. The choreographer since moved to an all male lineup she thought more appropriate, but I got to see a woman literally embody Coltrane (she was dancing the part), and that felt awesome
