Astronomical ~ Technical Beginning of Spring
One of two days on the Wheel of the Year when Day & Night are equal length (Equinox = 'Equal Night') - & everywhere on ⊕Earth.
The ⦿Sun Rises & Sets due East & West - so note that where you are !
Beginning of the Zodiac Cycle & the Astrological Year with the ⦿Sun entering ♈︎Aries, the First Sign.
' Derived from a reconstruction produced by linguist Jacob Grimm of an Old High German form of the Old English goddess name Ēostre, Ostara marks the vernal equinox in some modern Pagan traditions.
Known as Alban Eilir to modern Druid traditions, this holiday is the second of three spring celebrations (the midpoint between Imbolc and Beltane), during which light and darkness are again in balance, with light on the rise. It is a time of new beginnings and of life emerging further from the grips of winter. '

Only in 2002 are we getting near the truth about Malcolm's murder and the always known - by some - government complicity = Every Month is Real History Month.. Thanks Monica for the then and now and the in between...

Maybe it was an FMU gig/fundraiser

Not quite an FMU event, I'm seriously considering going to Goner Fest in Memphis in September. It seems like a lot of listeners and DJs will be there. It was really uplifting for me to connect with like-minded people at the Magic Factory and I'd like to experience that again soon.

The DJs talk about how WFMU gives them the freedom to play what they want, how there are no restrictions, but they don't say (for clear reasons) how *skilled* the WFMU DJs are -- how they are masters of the craft, subject experts in music, and incredible repositories of information. Joe [insert MONICA here!] has forgotten more about music than I'll ever know. It's a marvel to listen to him and Therese and other WFMU DJs weave these shows together and look back at the end and find that out of all the strands of song and craft they have created a whole -- and offered it freely, as a gift, with no motive other than to share it.
That's art, friends. We are lucky to witness it. That's why I pledge.
