Tho all Punk exalts TheStooges - I still think Ron Asheton is under-recognized for the expressive & original Gittarist he was. There's actually not a lot of 'straight' Punk bands play like he does on the first two Stooges albums seems to me - like an already flipped out Psychedelia with WahWah & FreeJazz influence. Aside from coming up with Riffs & Songs - which is *always* an undercredited skill for Musicians.

I thot that 1997 Iggy version for the Columbia (Sony) Legacy was Iggy Remixing then from Masters ? Rather than an 'original' mix. It had major teeth ! But - Iggy overcompensated & went into the red too much - but only imho on some tracks.
Is what is out now - as unique to 2023 - a *Remaster* of Iggy's 1997 Remix ?

I dont know how they did it but The 2023 Iggy mix //mastering is WAY BETTER to the 1997 CD, which IMHO absolutely sucks--clipping/too hot/no range etc.

No - but I saw them in Boston around the time of their Weirdness album (2007) ? Tbh - I was underwhelmed. My expectations of 'seeing TheStooges' were far too great. I saw Iggy solo in a small place around - 1986 ?? & that was every bit as phenomenal as could have wished.
