	8:17pm Observations: “This album was originally released in 1970. The name of the band that recorded the tracks on the B side was Orchestre Saf Mounadem. The one in the A side was Orchestre Laye Thiam , both of them formed from former members of the Star Band of Dakar. This split album was recorded and released by Ibrahim Kassé. Orchestre Saf Mounadem was later known as Orchestra Baobab, so these tracks can be considered their first recording.”

As a drummer, bandleader, composer, producer and DJ he seamlessly weaves the threads that connect experimental Jazz and Hip Hop, while remaining true to his musical mentors, e.g. Geri Allen and Billy Hart. While on tour in Tucson, Arizona, Kassa joined host David Mittleman for an exclusive interview that will highlight a 3-hour exploration of his varied discography.
