Well everyone should read Huxley's 'Doors of Perception' - really a long essay. Then for understanding it all I'd recommend 'Storming Heaven' by Jay Stevens on the history of what happened with it ...& Julian Cope's 'Head On' for what being an acidhead ends up being like.
