I used to live in Edmonton some years ago and during this time there would be heaps of snow and at the highest -20 degree celcius weather. I heard from my friends there that it is now close to 1 to 2 degree celcius. That's unimaginable.
Well, that's climate change for ya sadly.

The basic dish consists of a cooked (usually deep-fried) hot dog placed in an Italian roll or pizza bread, and topped with a combination of fried bell peppers, onions, and potatoes.[4][5][6]

very likely never will.
so i won't compare; but i love some veggie dogs. others are just vehicles for toppings.
problem is i can't tell you a brand name i like because the only good ones i've had in the past 20 years i got at hot dog carts and didn't ask about the brand.
doctorjazz:
I've definitely had veggie dogs I liked, even purchase them and have them at home (more healthy, obviously). But I grew up making family trips to Nathans in Coney Island, have a soft spot for those franks.

doc yeah until 2 years ago there was one that had both "vegetarian" dogs and "vegan" dogs.
vegetarian versions are standard here.
