COUNT THE CRITTERS
Whoever’s count is the closest wins a dumb prize.
Rules:
•Count how many critters are mentioned in songs in today’s show.
•Only count each critter once, even if it is mentioned more than once.
•Mythical and extinct critters DO count
•A hot dog is not a critter but a bulldog is.
•Critters that have different names as babies count: a cat counts, a kitten counts, etc. Tadpole, Frog, Rooster, Chicken, Hen, chick each count.
•Food made from animals, like beef, or Jello, or a hot dog, doesn't count.
•Don’t count any critters Roger says, just the ones in the songs.
•dumb animal puns count

I saw Thursday’s setlist and it seemed to focus a lot on covers. Friday’s show was focused on his own songs. He played my request which was “Now Be Thankful”, a Fairport Convention song from 1970.

Handy Haversack:
I requested "Mother Knows Best" and, for Kate, "Meet on the Ledge," but he didn't get to either.

Richard Thompson mentioned that he wanted to keep this show more focused on his material. Someone requested a Taylor Swift song and he just threw the yellow scrap of paper on the floor. The highlight of last night was his cover of Phil Ochs’ I Ain’t Marching Anymore. He changed the riff and the vocalization, but it was amazing.

I left DDR on on the kitchen radio as my son was hanging in the living room.
My wife and I were reading upstairs.
Then at 10 my wife says,
“What is that? What is Spence watching, it sound familiar…”
Then we both realized it was:
🎶Exercise! Exercise! Come on everybody come and Exercise!🎵
We had a good laugh.

Ursa's on it!
The new show The Peripheal, based on a William Gibson novel, has re-created thylacines in it.
For a really interesting take on the problems with DNA re-creation of extinct species, see this book: cup.columbia.edu... It's got the Handy seal of approval!
