	1:07pm Polyus: My dumb Smithereens story. . .Saw the Green Thoughts tour at some warehouse dance club in Orlando, standing up front between Pat and Jimmy and on the chorus to House We Used To Live In, Jimmy clearly sang "place where I left my FART" and looked over at Pat with a smirk on his face. Of course nobody else in the band acknowledged his wit so he just shrugged and kept playing.

	1:10pm Jeff formerly from Rahway: I saw the Smithereens in 1988 at my college. I was 800 miles from home in a cultural wasteland and I was able to enjoy a bit of Garden State pride among all of the hayseeds.

Makes total sense. ...When musing about PowerPop & its market fortunes - I have sometimes postulated if it's about the magical amalgamation TheBeatles had of youthful BabyBoom optimism & energy on one hand ...& Working Class Blues on the other hand ...then many PowerPop act don't get this rather rare & difficult balance exactly right ...& to be perfectly candid, have said TheSmithereens are an example of tilting a little too much towards the downbeat tone & themes ...none of which ever stopped me from trying to accumulate everything they'd ever released ! & one regards TheSmithereens as one of the truly classic dedicated U.S. Rawk'n'Roll Bands - like, I dunno, TheFlamin'Groovies... I did already know there was actually a Sabbath influence :) ... Everything I hear off this 'Lost Album' sounds like the best of what they do - can't believe it could've been sidelined for any reason for this long !

Of course nobody else in the band acknowledged his wit so he just shrugged and kept playing.

Makes total sense. ...When musing about PowerPop & its market fortunes - I have sometimes postulated if it's about the magical amalgamation TheBeatles had of youthful BabyBoom optimism & energy on one hand ...& Working Class Blues on the other hand ...then many PowerPop act don't get this rather rare & difficult balance exactly right ...& to be perfectly candid, have said TheSmithereens are an example of tilting a little too much towards the downbeat tone & themes ...none of which ever stopped me from trying to accumulate everything they'd ever released ! & one regards TheSmithereens as one of the truly classic dedicated U.S. Rawk'n'Roll Bands - like, I dunno, TheFlamin'Groovies... I did already know there was actually a Sabbath influence :) ... Everything I hear off this 'Lost Album' sounds like the best of what they do - can't believe it could've been sidelined for any reason for this long !
