i'd digitized it so i put it on, through the laptop, through my analogue setup as usual. i noted once again how thin and muddy the bass is -although all in all it sounds great.
so i put on a remastered version via spotify (the "high-quality" spotify) to see if someone'd mixed the bass up a bit.
but not only not that, but side-by-side through the same system it sounds like absolute shit!
- it's amazing what we can become accustomed to.

I have Spotify, but just the regular version-hardly use it, comes in handy when I go to a punk group concert my daughter likes (with her) and want some familiarity with them, listen to her playlist).
I had TIDAL hi-rez subscription for a while, found Ihardly used it, too much of my own music to listen to, so dropped it. (HI-Rez can be misleading, of course, how good it sounds isn't just dependent on the digitizing, but how good the master recording was, how close to an original master they could source to make the digital files, etc...)
