pretty good, handy. it's warm and rainy here in dfw. had a great outdoor gig in deep ellum last night, and classes are done (minus some final paper grading). looking forward to a weekend roadtrip to beaumont and houston next weekend, and then tour in january! yeehaw.

monk, on the other hand, does not like rain/thunder, so he's sitting under my desk grumbling at me. the loud music of the TOPT show is helping ease his anxiety though. Cricket is sleeping through it all.

@clarke, I'm not normally a fan of remixes, but Raw Power is a rare example of a remix that I vastly prefer over the original. But that CD is obscenely LOUD. The 2012 vinyl is the way to go.

The first time I saw Fast Times, it was in the nun’s residence on my high school property. We used to be able to use their lounge area to spend time in during study hall as seniors, but we largely ended up watching films that would shock the nuns if they caught wind of them. Here's some food for thought: I've noticed there's a similar theme shared between "Fast Times" and (my personal favorite) "Ferris Beuhler's Day Off". Both are focused on a single exceptional teenager who outwits their superiors in school and have hedonisitic sensibilities about life. The difference: While Spicoli represents the stoner/loser who lucks out in the en discd, Ferris represents the more sober yet clever rascal using every trick in the book to get his way.
