Yeah, I'm playing a lot of new music today because my hard drive crashed last night, sooooo annoying!

Bummer about the hard drive, Mary! Did you have everything backed up? And what are you going to do about the 2000 browser tabs you had open?

Mary, corrupted iTunes libraries are among the things that make me glad to be an *ex-*IT guy.
Hiya spodi, chris in the redwoods, and doc in transit!
Time for me to get cooking. Stock, sauce, and pie aren't going to make themselves.

this also looks helpful (just one example of many): www.tunefab.com...
Phillippe:
"Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library."

Enjoyed the Bach/Carlos on the drive, but the exactness of it makes me think I still like live musicians playing this stuff better. Which makes me think of the many musicians that lost gigs since electronic instruments became widely available. But then there's Donna Summer, the cool stuff she did with it (and many creative musicians using electronics after her).
(that's what happens when I can't post for a while-I didn't even get starrted on mp3s...)

"On July 14, 2009, the New York Times Company announced it was transferring the license for WQXR-FM on 96.3 FM to Univision Radio, in exchange for the license for Univision's WCAA on 105.9 MHz, with the sale slated to close in the second half of 2009. This exchange included a third party, WNYC Radio, which would take over operations of 105.9 FM from the Times, now as a non-commercial station. Univision paid the New York Times Company $33.5 million for the license for 96.3 MHz, and WNYC Radio paid the New York Times Company $11.5 million for 105.9 FM’s license, equipment, and the WQXR call letters, music library and website."

This is a fruitful 3OAK. Sometimes the covers all try to sound like the original. Here, the covers so far all go their original ways.
