I caught some video of them across the street on Friday and we saw a mother and 3 cubs in our front yard last night. The night before our neighbor saw one of them climbing down our tree. Yeesh!

BUT the mother bear was found & killed & the cubs sent to an animal re-hab. just like humansd. m KILL the bear for doing what comes naturally, protecting it's young.I really despise humans sometimes. default = kill all that we don't understand

They’ve been in our area of Northern NJ forever but this year I’ve spotted them on our street more times than I’d like. I feel bad for our neighbors who just moved in. We’ve been here for 21 years and have only seen them a couple of times but this year/season they’re seen almost daily.

	7:33am zippy: @yerfriendpaul: this time of year NE black bears (I have them all over where I live) are scrounging food from all sources, to fatten up for the winter hibernation. Young cubs will, stay with the mom for about a year, then the mother basically abandons them. They will scrounge for anything & in urban & semi-urban settings it's usually the lure of human garbage that has them come closer to humans, otherwise they tend to stay in the woods & eat mostly vegetation. They are almost never aggressive EXCEPT when with cubs. Then all bets are off & they can be VERY unpredictable. Dogs will usually bark at them which might scare them off or could put them into protect mode when with cubs. That is why I say be very careful. Also, it's warmer than usual for the end of Oct. which will have them delaying their hibernation patterns. My concern is not only for you & your family but also for the bear.

	7:33am zippy: @yerfriendpaul: this time of year NE black bears (I have them all over where I live) are scrounging food from all sources, to fatten up for the winter hibernation. Young cubs will, stay with the mom for about a year, then the mother basically abandons them. They will scrounge for anything & in urban & semi-urban settings it's usually the lure of human garbage that has them come closer to humans, otherwise they tend to stay in the woods & eat mostly vegetation. They are almost never aggressive EXCEPT when with cubs. Then all bets are off & they can be VERY unpredictable. Dogs will usually bark at them which might scare them off or could put them into protect mode when with cubs. That is why I say be very careful. Also, it's warmer than usual for the end of Oct. which will have them delaying their hibernation patterns. My concern is not only for you & your family but also for the bear.

I then took a bus to the F train which also briefly stopped running. I should have just waited for the Q train to be back online.
