It's the OSU Marching Band paying tribute to one of your fave artists. I'd rather not give you any spoilers, so I'll just let you see it for yourself when you get the chance.

ahhh I think I heard about that, but no I have not seen it yet will check it out after show, thank you!

Was it just my ears, or was that Aerovons track just meant as a ripoff of "Across The Universe"?
Avatar 10:12pm

it was very Beatlesque for sure.. .Hiya Fuzzy!

That there were three volumes of "The Best Of Herman's Hermits" is a testament to the group's huge popularity.
1967 is the year the Who joined their tour as a warm-up act (including at Asbury Park Convention Hall!).

Yes, Julie. 'Twas the Who's first time in America. The Hermits rivaled the Stones in popularity!

I know what you're referring to, Rev Rab. I first discovered “The President’s Analyst” on commercial broadcast television, complete with the great music by Barry McGuire and Clear Light.
But when I rented the VHS cassette, I found it replaced by newly recorded lousy modern music!

thanks Androu
Avatar 10:41pm
David Shortell:

Cliff De Young, a successful actor to this day, had apparently not yet joined Clear Light when “The President’s Analyst” was filmed. So Barry McGuire was cast as the singer of "She’s Ready to Be Free”, a single A-side that wasn’t featured on their sole album.
Then there’s the instrumental heard in the meadow scene after James Coburn’s character escapes with the band from Manhattan. I don’t know if that track had a title or if it ever appeared in phonographic form.

Re: Pink Floyd
Wasn’t that the same story with “It Would Be So Nice”? Left in the dust because it was just written for the charts and the rest of the band never really liked it?

Keith Emerson leading us into ♏︎Scorpio time, I'll call it. No synths yet ! (?)
Avatar 10:57pm
David Shortell:

I think this is the first time I heard music by the Fool, the artist group that designed the set for “Wonderwall”.
The soundtrack album for that movie can be considered George Harrison’s first solo album, recorded before the White Album!
  10:57pm
Dean:

You really ought to hear the odd Charisma sampler, Beyond an Empty Dream.

Looks interesting for sure Dean. Got McLauhglin - I'll listen already.
Avatar 11:01pm

Hi Dean! @Androu there's not a LOT of 60s bowie, he only had two albums, most, like what I played, were singles
Avatar 11:01pm
Julie:

George also has an electronic album haven't listen to the whole thing yet
Avatar 11:02pm
David Shortell:

I don't know, Mike, but Mojo magazine quoted Nick Mason as saying “Fucking awful, that record, isn’t it?”
  11:02pm

Those two George albums are clumsy but special.
Avatar 11:03pm
Julie:

@dean cool I'll check it out!
Avatar 11:04pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Nice to put a real sound to this Nice album cover. :D ...Just to the ELP side of SoftMachine perhaps...
Read that George's electronic album (*he* could afford a Moog already) was actually performed by someone else for the most part ...somewhere between 'Harrison presents' & 'Harrison creates' or something ...which surprises me really.
Avatar 11:04pm
Julie:

well that's disappointing
Avatar 11:05pm

and here Keith Emerson who has music in Nighthawks

Dean:

Drumming to Bach is difficult to negotiate.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06pm
Mike Sin:

Harrison’s Wonderwall LP is truly fabulous
Harrison’s Electronic Sound LP is him in one side just running through the Moog owner’s manual; the other is Bernie Krause not getting credited for his work.
Avatar 11:07pm
Julie:

wow I had no idea
Avatar 11:08pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Always that one riff with a stinging Clapton bit one hears from Wonderwall - like when an alt stream take over from a program on FMU...
