The program formerly known as Dinner at Andy's, The Fuzzy Glove Hour, Whores, and The Happiness Hut. Ken and Andy, also known as The Enema Boys, further lower WFMU's already abysmal standards on a weekly basis. I was thinking of "Jailhouse Rock" just this morning. Beside having the first reference to possibly non-consensual sodomy in any hit song, it refers to The Purple Gang, and this morning I was reading of how feared they were during the 1920s: they highjacked bootleggers' shipments in Detroit using extreme violence, and were later hired by Al Capone to guard his shipments.

Avatar 6:21pm
Matt from Springfield:

Whereas "Sherry": "I'm asking Sherry if she'll come out tonight." - and that's it, without anything else.
"I Want to Hold Your Hand": "I'm telling you now I'd like to hold your hand. Also it makes me feel special inside." - a little extra feeling.
"Twinkle Twinkle": actually a clever simulatino of the disjointed thoughts one goes through as one falls asleep. But, without a narrative.

@Murakami: Ah, "Number forty-seven said to number three". That was an edgy song for the 50s, particularly from the corporate Leiber and Stoller. But all of rock 'n roll was edgy for the time. Definitely some firsts in there. And so many legendary gangs came from the Prohibition period.
