Hey, Handy + K8 + Bagpipe. How do you balance your IRL adventures AND still make time for us?!

This is the stuff.

Matt from New Orleans:

Good evening Mr Fine Wine. Melvin Lastie died way too young. 42 back in 72
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:06pm

@Handy Hello!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:07pm
ultradamno:

Hey Handy!
  8:07pm
Listener Jumpy in Brooklyn:

Whenever I hear "We Got A Party," I flashback to N.R.B.Q.'s horn section sing this.
Avatar 🍷 Swag For Life Member 8:07pm
chresti:

Hi Mr Fine Wine and fine souls at the fine show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:08pm
Handy Haversack:

Too dark and cold to be on the ponds now, HyperD. We're in for the night! And we have to be up early to pack and hit the American road.

Hey hey, wind, chresti!
  8:08pm
Listener Jumpy in Brooklyn:

"singing"! Not "sing"!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:08pm
Mr. Fine Wine:

Confession: Never have I been to an NRBQ show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm
ultradamno:

I have not either, they seem fun though
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11pm
Handy Haversack:

I think I saw them get loaded with Col. Bruce Hampton and the ARU at a friend's house in high school, but I have never been to a show either.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11pm
Mr. Fine Wine:

These words border on blasphemy around here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:12pm
Handy Haversack:

"High school"?
  8:13pm
Listener Jumpy in Brooklyn:

N.R.B.Q. introduced me to the Olympics' great soul song, "The Same Old Thing" when they revived it AT YANKEE STADIUM...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13pm
Mr. Fine Wine:

Ha, Handy. The Olympics introduced me to that one!
  8:14pm
Listener Jumpy in Brooklyn:

"revived it on AT YANKEE STADIUM" Argh!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:20pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...man I got lost down a Psychedelic '66 rabbit hole - but I run across town to be here !!
...I had the impression NRBQ were like the Dead for people who go to clubs ...now I'm slightly better informed ...maybe that's still true.
  8:23pm
Listener Jumpy in Brooklyn:

They are the New Rhythm & Blue Quartet and been joined by everyone from Carl Perkins to John Sebastian (an album with the former and a live gig of the second's Lovin' Spoonful hits).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Well my ears perked up when Michael Shelly said Hendrix liked them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25pm
Handy Haversack:

Only tangentially related at best, but I wanted to mention that I have been giving one of Mark Twain's fave drinks another try on this trip: the Stone Fence: rye with cider on the rocks. Pretty nice with a seriously dry cider.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:27pm
Mr. Fine Wine:

That does sound pretty good! (Stone Fence, not NRBQ.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:27pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I prefer Eldridge Holmes of two lesser known NOLA vocalists that worked with Allen Toussaint in the 60s but both are great
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29pm
Mr. Fine Wine:

They both have their moments. Toussaint seemed to work more closely with Harper...duets, shared backing vocals, etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:36pm
steveo:

Hey there, MFW, sounding great

Waddupdoe Mr Finewine!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:39pm
Mr. Fine Wine:

Hey, gang. Thanks for tuning in! (Do people still "tune" in?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:40pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...strumming & trying to keep up to this Program is about the best Rhythm Gittar practice I can think of ...the funnest anyhow ...long as no real Soul players hear me gawd forbid...
  8:41pm
Listener Jumpy in Brooklyn:

...tuned in outside Soulsville..."

Wicked show, Mr. Fine Wine!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51pm
Matt from New Orleans:

That Marty Lewis is super obscure. That’s an Isaac Bolden label?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51pm
Clinto:

I meant I was dropped out. But I'm TURNT UP
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:52pm
Mr. Fine Wine:

Not sure who owned Big Deal, but that's an alternative flip to an uptempo Marty Lewis track, Can't Do Without You.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:53pm
Clinto:

How I miss New Orleans
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:53pm
