Their games are a lot of fun to watch because they’re in the same spirit as the Harlem Globetrotters - really zany and I love it . Anyway, this particular game had a scary moment in the 4th inning, when former major leaguer Bill “The Spaceman” Lee (of the 1975 Red sox, now 75 years old) collapsed just before he was due to pitch an inning. The EMTs in the park rushed to his aid and in fear/concern/helplessness both teams formed a prayer circle on the pitcher’s mound. It was truly a tense 10 or 15 minutes but thank goodness the medical team was able to resuscitate him and he walked off the field (with help). I followed up online the next morning and it turns out he had a heart attack and stopped breathing. The doctors said if it weren’t for the speedy aid from EMTs he would’ve died. He was in good spirits the following day, thank goodness. I wasn’t expecting such drama during a Bananas game!!

	7:49am yerfriendpaul: This Friday I stumbled onto a game on ESPN + played by the Savannah Bananas, a crazy collegiate league baseball team. Their games are a lot of fun to watch because they’re in the same spirit as the Harlem Globetrotters - really zany and I love it . Anyway, this particular game had a scary moment in the 4th inning, when former major leaguer Bill “The Spaceman” Lee (of the 1975 Red sox, now 75 years old) collapsed just before he was due to pitch an inning. The EMTs in the park rushed to his aid and in fear/concern/helplessness both teams formed a prayer circle on the pitcher’s mound. It was truly a tense 10 or 15 minutes but thank goodness the medical team was able to resuscitate him and he walked off the field (with help). I followed up online the next morning and it turns out he had a heart attack and stopped breathing. The doctors said if it weren’t for the speedy aid from EMTs he would’ve died. He was in good spirits the following day, thank goodness. I wasn’t expecting such drama during a Bananas game!!
