I didn't know the Jetsons era was so soon forthcoming.
The original "Star Trek" series is officially declared to be set in the 23rd century--though when Kirk time-traveled to the 1960's in "Tomorrow Is Yesterday", he seemed to say that he was from the 22nd century.
Avatar 10:55pm
Julie:

there's a lot of references to the 20th and 21st century in strange new worlds and it's really jarring
Avatar 10:58pm

...there was a brief few years I kinda joked about the 20th being that other Century ...stopped laughing pretty quick.

Avatar 11:07pm
Mr Fab:

We’re there really 7 members in Vinegar? I hear 2 guitars, bass, drums, organ. And I think the second guitarist might have switched over to organ so probly still a quartet. What did the other guys do? Lyrics? Hype man? Merch table dude?
  11:08pm
Androu B.:

All I can is, the playlist he performed from that night was a rather dicey one. He played some oldies like "Incense And Peppermints" and (believe it or not) "Muskrat Love", songs he wouldn't usulally play at a regular venue. But he did get to perform some of his own songs like "Compassion" and, of course, he ended the night with "Hello It's Me".
Avatar 11:08pm
Julie:

that's a really good question. only 6 names in their discogs entry.
Avatar 11:09pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I'd be hyped just to see Clatpon's painted SG. Wonder if Todd still carts it around...
Looks like one figure of the Vinegar mosaic is a historical personage... Course they all are now, while we're on the subject...

Avatar 11:13pm
Julie:

there ARE 7 names on the back of the album though tinyurl.com...
  11:14pm
Androu B.:

I'll admit, he does a pretty decent job of covering it. But, like I said, they performed a pretty unusual set of songs, some kid songs like "I Won't Grow Up". I was getting the feeling they were coerced by the venue managers to perform "family-friendly" songs knowing that this was an outdoor family setting.
Avatar 11:14pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Nice segue !
...Evol before SonicYouth by a minute.
Avatar 11:16pm
Julie:

that's sad, Androu. Thank you, Rev!
  11:18pm
Androu B.:

Later on in the show, Todd was acting really loose during one break and going on about how things in the world seem so contrary and backwards. Then he followed his rant with a performance of "One World".
Avatar 11:20pm
Julie:

she only knows one sentence in english?
Avatar 11:20pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I'm with Todd on that one.
  11:21pm
Androu B.:

During that rant, he was making a point about censorship and how lots of our liberties are gradually being taken away from us, which of course is a profound and critical point.
Avatar 11:21pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Yeah she's even more reductive than TheSeeds on the topic :D ...
Avatar 11:22pm
Mr Fab:

We’ll, if you only know one sentence inEnglish, she picked a good one.
Avatar 11:22pm
Julie:

haha true!
  11:23pm
Androu B.:

It might have helped a bit that he was quite liquored up at that point, hah!
Avatar 11:23pm
Mr Fab:

I hate how every time I write “well” it gets changed to “we’ll.” Cuz apparently “well” is such a weird, obscure word.
Avatar 11:24pm
Julie:

that happens to me when I type "in" it turns into "I'm"
Avatar 11:24pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Yerknow - all my life as a staunch counterculturalist I woulda stumped for Free Speech - but these days I fear it's coming from so-called Libertarians or RightWing tinfoil hat people & the like complaining about getting canceled or something...
Avatar 11:25pm
Julie:

@Rev I had the same thought
  11:29pm
Androu B.:

@RevRab

That's just how it is in the good ol' US of A. The loudest voices get all the attention yet there's no guarantee that their influence promises action nor counteraction.
  11:34pm
Androu B.:

Ah, I had this one on 8-Track back in the day, one of three Spirit albums, in fact.
Avatar 11:34pm
Julie:

awesome! Spirit to me seems like a Clay Pigeon band
Avatar 11:35pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Don't know Spirit anywhere near as well as I should!
  11:35pm
Androu B.:

One of the other ones I had was the one with "Fresh Garbage" in it.
Avatar 11:36pm
Julie:

mmm fresh garbage
Avatar 11:37pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Acquired some Spirit vinyl ...but the only thing I intend to do with vinyl anymore is rip it so I can listen to it digitally & not wear it out...
Avatar 11:38pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

This freaking album tho.
Avatar 11:38pm
Julie:

to you have a usb turntable or do you use a board?
  11:39pm
Androu B.:

Funny enough, I was reintroduced to that song by way of downloading a Beck discography that was chock full of extras including all the source tracks he sampled from for his own tunes.
Avatar 11:39pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I don't have or use anything for it yet ! :D
Just an ordinary turntable I don't use...

Avatar 11:42pm
Mr Fab:

I bought this album on vinyl as teenager without having heard a note. The cover probably had something to do with it.

Fortunately I listened to, and loved the music.

Yeah, def the line where "psych" was transmogrifying into "prog."
Avatar 11:42pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

AhHa ...I'd say PetSounds just to mess with everyone... There's how Psych morphed into Prog - with Beatles, Floyd - & MoodyBlues (hello!)...
Avatar 11:43pm

I'd never have bought that for the cover. totally would have chased me off.
