Hey hey!
  12:13am
BH:

greetings from the KC area where our local baseball team only barely cleared the 60% cloture threshold for getting guys into Canada (10 of the 26 players are on the restricted list because apparently a 35-53 baseball team doesn't have good leadership)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22am
Rory:

Been awhile since I’ve seen a post from Patrick Lancaster. I’m very concerned about his well being.
  12:24am
BH:

before today, there had been 25 major league baseball players unable to enter Canada with no more than 4 per team. So having 10 from one team is sorta like the unvaccinated equivalent of Babe Ruth hitting more home runs than multiple teams in the 1920s.

So the team I keep watching has some people whose decisions make it difficult for them to leave America right now.

to be fair to Mike Matheny (the manager of the Royals), who I'm not a huge fan of, the General Manager who signed those players has something to reflect upon too.

All of the 10 players who can't get into Canada were born in the US. Players born outside of the US are kinda heavily vaccinated against COVID because of travel restrictions
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56am
Rory:

It’s been such a long time since I watched baseball Mike Matheny was catcher for the cardinals who I used to watch everyday early 2000’s. Interesting he’s managing the Royals…
  1:09am
BH:

yeah if you played catcher in the majors, they almost offer you managerial jobs until it becomes apparent that it's a bad fit. And sometimes they hire you to a second job after you got fired from the last one. Which is kinda how it goes in America sometimes.

gonna guess this was a fun evening since my phone (the source of WFMU playing through a bluebooth speaker) went to a passcode after not being touched for 4 hours (when evil corp Apple finally made me use a passcode, I set a long timer because I don't wanna keep entering a passcode)
