A highpoint was when Kevn Kinney ended up filling a slot for a booker friend at Trash Bar when K8's last band was playing there. He was so kind and generous and when he realized how I felt, he basically was like, "OK, [Handy], what do you want to hear?" Really wonderful night. And I got to tell him how much his music had and still did mean to me, which is a chance always worth taking.

Taco Chulo was just one of our favorite places, and K8's and other friends' bands played Trash and Grand Victory a lot, so that stretch is pretty close to our minds. Also, our vet is right over there!

He was so kind and generous and when he realized how I felt, he basically was like, "OK, [Handy], what do you want to hear?" Really wonderful night. And I got to tell him how much his music had and still did mean to me, which is a chance always worth taking.
