Of the covers, I most enjoyed "She Does Everything for Me", probably because that is one of my all time favourite POP songs. Otherwise I am more enjoying the songs you are playing in this set, which you say are their originals.

So good to be hearing these songs!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm
Funky16Corners:

I prefer their originals much more than the covers. That's one thing that separated them from most of the revival bans of the 80s
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm
Funky16Corners:

@Brian - Steve Savage produced this album
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm
Funky16Corners:

The production on all of their album is amazing. Savage engineered the next LP with Matt Carges (of the band) producing, and then Joel Jaffe.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:35pm
WR:

Mrs Markle has some Small Faces Ogdens Nut Gone Flakes and Herman's Hermits flavours but not imitatively.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm

That's hat I love about them. They absorbed all of this music but don't play it like record collectors trying to impress other record collectors
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm

Which is what a lot of the revival bands sounded like (or were)

Enjoyed the Mae West recording, surprised to see the musicians, except Jim Horn, were not seasoned session players. David Clark Allen did become a session player for Jack Nitzsche after no commercial success with his band. Felt to me that someone, perhaps West herself, put some thought into adapting the songs for her. Of course her delivery was spot on.

Erica:

What an odd, yet creative version of the Neil Diamond song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm
Funky16Corners:

That Della 45 of Very Good Year is sought after by soul/funk DJs. Pretty hard to put your hands on at a reasonable prce
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm
Funky16Corners:

@Erica- I said a few weeks back that I'd dig this out. Very unusual
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm
zzz:

had to look this up: Meadowlark Lemon was a Harlem Globetrotter, wikipedia says he played 50 games w them in 1994 so a decent chance i saw him haha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm
Funky16Corners:

Morgana King aka Mama Corleone. RIP James Caan...
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:12pm
WR:

Quick look at discogs and no LP issue for those Reese recordings. How did that happen?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12pm
Funky16Corners:

@zzz - If you grew up in the lte 60s/early 70s Meadowlark and the rest of the Globetrotters were everywhere. Even on Scooby Doo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12pm
Funky16Corners:

@WR - I know, right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:14pm
Funky16Corners:

BTW my son had me sit through a Scooby Doo/KISS crossover yesterday
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:16pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:37pm

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:39pm

the baby's name isn't exactly Zeppo, but it sounds very close, and the middle name is Marx. I haven't broke the news to him, yet (I really think he doesn't know)
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:39pm

I remember the Don Agrati LP coming out. Don't remember seeing any promotion tying it to his TV acting career.

Funky16Corners:

I would be...j/k I thought about Gary. I'm still looking for a particular Patty Duke 45
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:46pm
Funky16Corners:

The various and sundry Rooney brothers had actual talent. The next band features Mickey Jr (a few years after these 45s). Teddy was a member of The Yellow Payges
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:46pm

The Rooney Brothers even got haircuts that looked like early Byrds...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:46pm
Funky16Corners:

Tim is in Riot On the Sunset Strip!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm
Funky16Corners:

This is Song, Mickey Rooney Jr's band. Great power pop album produced by...wait for it...Curt Boettcher!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:51pm

Seems that the mom of the older 2 Roony brothers was a talented singer who later married Barny Kessel.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:51pm
Funky16Corners:

I just watched an interview with Mickey Jr and Tim from the 80s, and they're family is a huge web of step-parents, step-siblings etc. Mickey was married a LOT
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:52pm
Funky16Corners:

I think their mom was Miss Alabama!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:54pm
WR:

I don't remember seeing this Song album in stores in the early 70s (when I basically lived my life in record stores).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55pm

Imagine trying to search for it on the internet. Band: Song Album: Album!?!
