Jambi the Genie was played by John Paragon, who played The Breather on Cassandra Peterson's original "Elvira" show. Since he worked with both Peterson and Reubens, I'll guess he was in The Groundlings. I think he directed "Twin Sitters", which I hear is an hoot.

Has there ever been a band called "The Bouncing Betties"?
I just got reäcquainted with them in "Fighting Back", Peter Masters' memoir of going from happy teen to persecuted Jew in Vienna to enemy alien to insanely fit commando in Britain, France, and Germany. Near the end he tells the story of a fellow X-Trooper Manfred Gans who travelled across half of barely–post-war Europe to visit his parents in Theresienstadt.

honestly, you can make yourself crazy trying to address the inherent sexism (and speciesism, racism, ableism, ageism, etc.) in American English --late 70s/early 80s i was experimenting with using "it" and "its" instead of she, he, her, his, etc. -- drove my college professors nuts! but ultimately i stopped, because i did not want to "objectify" anyone either! so now, i find the conversation about pronouns a positive development -- and have also learned over the years that you just gotta meet people where they are 😺😺
