Ginger and clarke the need to create villains has created the myth Edison stole other's inventions. What he did was use existing concepts and do the exhaustive work to make them usable. The phonoautograph's recording medium was impractical, he found a practical filament for Swan's incdescent light bulb and invented the electric grid to power it. Light bulbs still use the screw base he introduced.

Marvin Gardens is directed by Nicholson's buddy Bob Rafelson, but no surprise appearance by Dolenz.

One of Marshall's best songs. Weird that it was only a b-side.

Arthur Alexander didn’t write Burning Love, but his version was released before Elvis’s. This makes him the only artist to have either written or recorded the first version of songs that wetre recorded by Elvis, the Beatles, the Stones, and Bob Dylan.

I still have this Crenshaw track as a b-side (funny that it became so popular---Bette Midler even covered it). On the single it says it's by MC "and the Handsome, Ruthless & Stupid Band." Robert C. (who used to live in my building in the East Village) told me that the name came from a Dorothy Parker quote.

The new Kevin Morby album has a track "Five Easy Pieces" that is about the film, mostly from Karen Black's POV. Good stuff.

I was just listening to the Four Jacks and a Jill version of 'Master Jack', which was pretty high up the charts at this time in 1968 . (I amuse myself by looking up old Billboard charts and then use Spotify to assemble a playlist of the Hot 100 in reverse order. I find that from the 60s usually about 90 out of the 100 are on there)
