tim, I have seen side-scan sonar of the river bottom, and it's surprisingly clean! Only really heavy things seem to stick around. Everything else is whooshed out into the Atlantic or Long Island Sound. So look for Air Buds and tablets in Flushing Bay and Coney Island!

Hi! Hm, well, I have quite a few that I love. One of them is called Kristin Lavransdattir--the story of one woman's life set in mideval Norway--it's actually never been out if print since it was first published in the 1930s.

David Foster Wallace was a good fiction writer, but I think his real talent was describing the real word. Read The Girl With Curious Hair, then read Consider The Lobster, then ask yourself which was more illuminating.
