Live performance by Vetiver (Listen to this set: Pop-up)

Firmly rooted in folksy Americana, Vetiver rises from the musical musings of main songwriter Andy Cabic, aided on a debut album by violinist Jim Gaylord and cellist Alissa Anderson, along with the most wonderful Devendra Banhart and Hope Sandoval on a couple of tracks. Pitchfork Media's Amanda Petrusich says "Vetiver could very well be the blurry soundtrack to a delirious fever dream: The band's self-titled debut is a dizzyingly euphoric tangle of freaked-out folk and scratchy strings, all twisted sheets and sweaty brows, upside-down trees and wicked flowers." They dropped by the WFMU studios for a live set preceeding an evening show at The Bowery Ballroom.
