	♥ 8:14pm Krys O.: We would eat at the counter at Woolworth's. There also was an old fashioned ice cream parlor where we'd meet after school. Sitting on those classic spinning stools was a treat.
	8:14pm MarkTime: Today I am mostly listening along while catching up on the backlog of travel reports for my zine series. Eek, I'm only up to the Egypt adventures in March. Wow, good Grace Jones tune!

	8:15pm MarkTime: Krys: I do miss Woolworths. A record store in New Orleans is in a former Woolworths and kept most of the lunch counter area intact
	♥ 8:15pm Franco Twinkie: I spent a good part of my teens alone at the library. It was a sanctuary then, but it became a lifelong habit.
	♥ 8:17pm Kat in Chicago: I walked past a former Woolworths on Lincoln Avenue this past Sunday. It's lofts/condos now. Boo.
	8:18pm Mr Fab: That's cool, MarkTime - there's a new restaurant/bar in Hollywood that used to be a recording studio, and they kept one room intact.
	♥ 8:18pm Krys O.: @Franco, I started going to the library very early. It helped that it was around the corner from our apartment. Later on in high school, my best friend worked in the children's library and I would visit her there. One of my sisters was a teacher and a school librarian. They dedicated a mural at the children's public library to her memory after she passed away.
	8:18pm MarkTime: Kat: the one at Lincoln/Fullerton/Halsted? Is the Seminary restaurant still there or was that condo'd too?
	♥ 8:20pm Kat in Chicago: Mark: Actually further up Lincoln. Seminary is long gone. Was a McDonald's for a while, ugh! Not sure about now because I hardly ever find myself in that area anymore.
	♥ 8:20pm Krys O.: At least the old Woolworth's in Bloomfield is now a dollar store. The condos and luxury apartments are encroaching though.
	♥ 8:21pm Franco Twinkie: That's wonderful Krys, to be remembered in a library mural is beyond special. We should all be so lucky when we trip on to the otherside.

	♥ 8:31pm Krys O.: Tiny Tim would have a blast on the Uncle Floyd Show because Floyd and the rest of the cast were also musical experts. I recall Tim sang with Michael Townshend Wright who himself was/is an incredible singer of the old tunes.
	♥ 8:31pm Krys O.: I got to know some of the Floyd cast as my ex was a guest on the show about 8 or 9 times.
	♥ 8:31pm Kat in Chicago: Ohhh I used to play this 45 over and over. This and "New Life."

	♥ 8:32pm Austin Rich: As a younger person, by the time I got to see Depeche Mode, they didn't sound like this anymore. It was a little disheartening; I wasn't the fun synths! Instead they were super-mopey and played guitars. It was still good, but... the keyboards!
	♥ 8:32pm Aitch: I got in trouble in high school for liking Speak and Spell. Wasn't very rawk was it?
	8:33pm Mr Fab: Love this period of DM. yeah, they got real mopey. Which somehow translated into superstardom. Kids are funny, eh?

	♥ 8:33pm Krys O.: No guilt allowed when it comes to music, Aitch. I liked Enjoy the Silence a lot. Martin Gore is a brilliant songwriter.

	♥ 8:35pm Austin Rich: Depeche Mode was the second (?) or third show I saw by myself. The first I saw by myself was absolutely fIREHOSE / Butthole Surfers.

	8:36pm Mr Fab: Darryl plays a "Singing Actor of the Week" on his "World's Worst Records" show, but that Karen Black was quite shockingly not bad. Not bad at all.
	♥ 8:37pm Austin Rich: Butthole Surfers were still doing the medical films projected over dancers, a real wild show. Compared to the Robert Palmer show my mom took me too, this was... wild.
	♥ 8:37pm Krys O.: I recently re-watched Burnt Offerings and Karen Black was still terrific. It's a brutal film in many ways.
	8:37pm Mr Fab: pretty sure I caught that fIREHOSE / Butthole Surfers tour, Austin. With Frightwig, too? I saw the Butthole Surfers more times than any sane man should.
	♥ 8:38pm Feldy: I've always toggled between wanting to be alone and with people. I love me some solitude.
	♥ 8:38pm Austin Rich: Can't remember Frightwig, but there might have been different local openers. I only remember asking show fIREHOSE was, and realized I had missed out on a LOT of cool Watt stuff.
	♥ 8:39pm Kat in Chicago: I like being with people alone, if that makes sense.
	♥ 8:39pm Krys O.: I never saw the Butthole Surfers live, but I did get to meet Kathleen Lynch who was the 'naked dancer.' She is brilliant and a great person.
	♥ 8:39pm Franco Twinkie: Five Easy Pieces and Cisco Pike are two of my favorite movies, that coincidentally star Karen Black.
	♥ 8:39pm Austin Rich: I find a lot of people really difficult. But certain groups I can get into. And certainly music and radio folks are a little easier to get along with.
	♥ 8:40pm Austin Rich: Five Easy Pieces is AMAZING.
	♥ 8:40pm Aitch: Working from a home office is the best.
	♥ 8:41pm Austin Rich: I think the Surfers sort of lost their as the years went on. But I contend those early albums are UNBEATABLE, and just really killer modern day psyche.
	♥ 8:41pm Krys O.: Come Back to the 5 and Dime, Jimmy Dean needs a rewatch.
	♥ 8:41pm Franco Twinkie: I like to roll the dice and just kind of run into people. It works sometimes, but often not.
	♥ 8:41pm Aitch: It was tooo sad Krys O. Delusional
	♥ 8:43pm Austin Rich: I realize this is not everyone's problem, but if there's a crowd, I sort of start trying to entertain people with stories and jokes. It's fun... but a real drain. I often don't do crowds unless I'm in the mood. But I do wish I had more friends, locally. Most people I know are all online.
	♥ 8:43pm Aitch: Had that horrid vibe like Requium For a Dream
	♥ 8:45pm Krys O.: Oh, thanks for the warning, Aitch. I get sensitive to some things on film like dying animals, for example. Can't take it. I feel extremely lucky to know a lot of different cool folks, but I'm comfortable on my own. That might have to do with being a 'caboose baby.' Youngest of five with a great age difference. The closest one in age to me is my brother who is seven years older. I was a latchkey kid too. Got dinner started after school before mom came home from work.
	♥ 8:45pm Austin Rich: I listened to a great podcast series about The Rat Pack. "You Must Remember This," hosted by Corina Longworth. I really enjoy her style of storytelling, and the show is great if you love old movies.
	♥ 8:46pm Franco Twinkie: Tell me about it Austin. I'm very outgoing which makes me suspect to many people. Plus, I'm always the loudest person in any social gathering, so there's that.
	♥ 8:47pm Krys O.: Thanks for the tip, Austin. I'm a Rat Pack fan. I could go on about my insecurities with crowds and parties, but let's not go down that road.
	♥ 8:47pm Austin Rich: I was the oldest of 11 between the two marriages, and all of us were born within 6 years of each other. I was the oldest by a long stretch, so I was also the defacto babysitter. I basically raised 10 kids before I even moved out on my own.
	♥ 8:49pm Franco Twinkie: Speaking of social gatherings, I'm going to Taco Tuesday at The Lost Parrot in South Pasadena. Even if it turns out to be a wash socially, there's always tacos.

	♥ 8:50pm Krys O.: Interesting, Austin. My oldest sister just turned 75. She was out of the house by the time I was in kindergarten. My second oldest sister did help to raise me. She always wanted to be a teacher and I was her experiment. The other sibs were teenage hippies who I tagged along with to head shops and such as a tot.

	♥ 8:18pm Krys O.: @Franco, I started going to the library very early. It helped that it was around the corner from our apartment. Later on in high school, my best friend worked in the children's library and I would visit her there. One of my sisters was a teacher and a school librarian. They dedicated a mural at the children's public library to her memory after she passed away.

I often don't do crowds unless I'm in the mood. But I do wish I had more friends, locally. Most people I know are all online.

	♥ 8:45pm Krys O.: Oh, thanks for the warning, Aitch. I get sensitive to some things on film like dying animals, for example. Can't take it. I feel extremely lucky to know a lot of different cool folks, but I'm comfortable on my own. That might have to do with being a 'caboose baby.' Youngest of five with a great age difference. The closest one in age to me is my brother who is seven years older. I was a latchkey kid too. Got dinner started after school before mom came home from work.
	♥ 8:45pm Austin Rich: I listened to a great podcast series about The Rat Pack. "You Must Remember This," hosted by Corina Longworth. I really enjoy her style of storytelling, and the show is great if you love old movies.
	♥ 8:46pm Franco Twinkie: Tell me about it Austin. I'm very outgoing which makes me suspect to many people. Plus, I'm always the loudest person in any social gathering, so there's that.

	♥ 8:47pm Austin Rich: I was the oldest of 11 between the two marriages, and all of us were born within 6 years of each other. I was the oldest by a long stretch, so I was also the defacto babysitter. I basically raised 10 kids before I even moved out on my own.
