	♥ 1:21am Whosondephone: Been using dawn and a carbon brush. Been curious myself about a record cleaner.
	♥ 1:21am coelacanth∅: i still use the discwasher. the original, not the cheap imitation made after it was bought out. just with distilled water. if i had access to free photoflow i'd put a drop or 2 in it. but the spin clean is excellent.
	1:21am rw: Tell me more coelacanth. Most of my LPs are pretty clean but there are a few could use some work. Or should I just go ahead, order one and find out for myself?
	1:24am rw: I've heard good and bad about photoflo, but I feel like it must be more or less like D4 if diluted properly.
	♥ 1:24am coelacanth∅: rw it's basically a bin. put distilled water and a capful of their miracle fluid, the brushes and the rollers and spin the records manually. dry them with lint-free cloths before lining them up in a dish drainer.
	♥ 1:24am Mike Sin: Spon-clean, huh? Should take the plunge.
	♥ 1:24am Tome: vacuum the record(s) first or you're gonna embed the grit into the grooves with the ie... cleaning brush

	♥ 1:28am coelacanth∅: rw i've never heard bad things about a drop of photoflo in a cup (or a pint?) of distilled water to recreate D4... but the distilled water does okay. zerostat sometimes makes a huge difference too..but sometimes nearly none.

	♥ 1:32am coelacanth∅: Tome i understand the concept of vacuuming them first but because the cleaning process is wet i think it not much of an issue most of the time, and very impractical for 3-4000 lps and 4-500 45s (and maybe 130 10"ers) i can't afford a fancy automatic record vacuumer, and doing it quickly with a regular vacuum cleaner is way too risky.

	1:42am rw: Okay, I have a question... why is it that I don't remember records ever having surface noise or skipping on the radio back before digital, while my own LPs always had at least a few crackles and pops even when new.
	1:44am rw: Was it just that I wasn't paying close attention? Or was there some technology to reduce that stuff?
	♥ 1:45am Mike Sin: Were the old pro stations just keeping a "refreshed" library of periodically new LPs? They didn't have freaky Mike just bringing his records from home each week!

	2:06am rw: KFHP, they look very much like 8-track tapes. I don't remember rewinding them either. Maybe they're loops. Been a while.

	♥ 1:21am coelacanth∅: i still use the discwasher. the original, not the cheap imitation made after it was bought out. just with distilled water. if i had access to free photoflow i'd put a drop or 2 in it. but the spin clean is excellent.
	1:21am rw: Tell me more coelacanth. Most of my LPs are pretty clean but there are a few could use some work. Or should I just go ahead, order one and find out for myself?
	1:24am rw: I've heard good and bad about photoflo, but I feel like it must be more or less like D4 if diluted properly.
	♥ 1:24am coelacanth∅: rw it's basically a bin. put distilled water and a capful of their miracle fluid, the brushes and the rollers and spin the records manually. dry them with lint-free cloths before lining them up in a dish drainer.
