Others will enter the gates of the ferry and cross from shore to shore,
Others will watch the run of the flood-tide,
Others will see the shipping of Manhattan north and west, and the heights of Brooklyn to the south and east,
Others will see the islands large and small;
Fifty years hence, others will see them as they cross, the sun half an hour high,
A hundred years hence, or ever so many hundred years hence, others will see them,
Will enjoy the sunset, the pouring-in of the flood-tide, the falling-back to the sea of the ebb-tide.

Daybreaks Thinking Thoughts 💭:
PaulRobeson1922:
It was progressive insofar as it assumed that the world was becoming a better place in which to live, and that man himself was the agent of his progress. Two related ideas played a part in developing the particular form which this belief in progress took. One was an assumption that man was basically good, and the second was a conviction that by changing man’s environment, human nature itself would be changed. Improvement of society could therefore be effected by bettering the environment of potentially good mankind. This concept was the generating force behind such reform enterprises, both before and after World War I, as campaigns for tenement house legislation, child labor laws, improvement of working conditions (particularly for women), and various social security plans.
You know you must take a look at the new land the swimming pool and the teeth of your friend, the dirt in my hand…

Not knowing what's been done already it's hard for me to"diagnose" the issue from here.
The variables simply put are is it electrical or mechanical.
I think you said he/she changed out the compressor (expensive) & then recharged the system (freon now R134 gas).
I would hope they would have checked the lines thoroughly for leaks before giving you the vehicle back and tested the A/C IN the vehicle to be sure it was cooling the cabin .
All this would seem rule out most of the mechanical.
When you turn the a/c on, do you hear an audible click/clunk under the hood?
That would tell you that the a/c clutch is engaging the compressor and thereby putting it into operation where it compresses the gas in the system to displace heat.
If the system worked at the time of you picking it up then stopped it's possible that the a/c relay is acting intermittently, sometimes telling the clutch to engage the compressor & other times not.
The key is to have the hood open & someone there to listen under the hood while you turn the a/c on.
No clunk no clutch engagement if it engages but then disengages or clatters, it's possible the relay is not good (or wiring to it).
If I were closer I'd look at it.

i noticed that when the air is hot, the compressor kicks on and then sort of shudders and kicks off almost immediately. i think it is probably some sort of electrical issue. he just needs to sit there and listen to it to hear what i have been hearing

Under the hood there should be a black (?) fuse/relay box.
They are usually easily accessible and marked for location of the a/c fuse & relay, both inside the box on on the inner cover.
I would remove the relay (it plugs in to a socket in the black box) and look at the little contacts on it's bottom.
They may be corroded or not.
Either way try taking it out then plugging it back in & see if the system turns on when you turn on the a/c switch in the cabin.
If the a/c clutch engages then disengages, tap the top of the relay lightly with the handle of a screwdriver or something similar (no hammers) & if you hear the clutch engage or clatter, the relay is not transferring current properly to the clutch assembly .
Replace the relay (a cheap fix usually) &hopefully that cures it.
Let me know what happens.
You can email me through the contacts on this page if you prefer :)
