Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:12pm

The Beatles were experimenting in the Studio, recording techniques, true. But who could play like Jimi? (not criticizing all the other guitarists, Jimi did change electric guitar playing...)
Avatar 🇰🇷 Swag For Life Member 8:12pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Clapton *never* made a track like that. Which I emphasize because they're often compared. When Clapton did overdubs in Cream then - it was like two bitchen soloists. But that's as adventurous as that got. & I *love* Cream.

northguineahills:

@Zipperhead: there's a delta on Mars' Jezero crater.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:17pm
Zipperhead7:

Clapton's timbre (Les Paul into an overdriven Marshall) was era-defining, but he tended to string "licks" together, whereas Bloomfield and Peter Green (and Hendrix) sounded much more vocal to me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18pm
doctorjazz:

I love Cream as well (though I can pass on most solo Clapton), but, to me (and to Miles, among others), Jimi was in another category entirely.
