Lincoln did two shows with me as co-host. Back on the mothership. Both times I was basically her straight man. She got all the laughs. Here's a show I did with Lincoln when she was 7 years old: wfmu.org...

Ages ago I reached out to Alex Ross about doing a show on WFMU. He was intrigued (he had done a radio show in college), but ultimately decided he was too busy. Was working furiously on a book. That book turned out to be Pulitzer finalist The Rest Is Noise.

Elton Dean was a key player on the British/European jazz/improv/creative music scene. Collaborated most wonderfully with many of the brilliant South African ex-pats. (Louis Moholo is on drums here.)

Oh my god. Ogun Records! Almost certainly my desert island record label. Founded by South African bassist Harry Miller and his wife Hazel. Captured legendary and historic performances by the cream of the crop of the South African ex-pats in Europe, along with crucial sessions by key European improvisers. Massive massive massive sounds. Each Ogun release is more astonishing than the next.

re. Wildwood. I picked up that book on a few occasions, skimmed it and was intrigued but was unsure that it would connect with my kids. Since then they've consumed a lot of dystopian fare but not sure if the young protagonists would interest them anymore. But I would like to see solo mon's "bloody AF" blurb on any future reprints.

One time long ago Jessie and I played a game where we told each other who would play the other in the movie version of our lives. She said Spencer Tracy. I said Isabella Rossellini, and Jessie got really mad at me. All these years later, she doesn't quite get what a compliment that was. Oh well.
