Got home a little while ago from the bird-watching event! Was a blast. I biked there and then took a couple of trains as close to home as possible and biked the rest, so I'm very ready for food and a nap. The first train also took me right back through the park area, so that was very cool. Nature, wildlife, NYC skyline, trains, and planes. Great spot for me, haha.

Really appreciated having you deejaying during most of my trip back, Rex!

Rev, I only opened a coaster brake once, while at a campsite, a girl was unable to ride with her friends because the brake locked-up. I volunteeered to fix it. HOLY CRAP, so many strange parts, I was sweating bullets not to screw anything up. Worked out ok. I saw her later, on the bike, slamming the brakes really hard. Light bulb moment for me.

It really is such a pleasure having people with you who really know what they're talking about when you're doing something, like this bird-watching event. Saw plenty of cool birds in general. Saw a young bald eagle soaring pretty highly that I never would have known was a bald eagle without people pointing it out. We saw some cool white birds that were bigger too.

All-around great time and crowd. Definitely can get windy and chilly there, so I'm glad I dressed heavier. Also fun, of course, to see plenty of WFMU gear. Would love getting out to more events like these! Oh, and I even tuned into WFMU for exercise time on Double-Dip Recess. I think I got my fill of exercise today!
