Poor Bagpipe still has the Hemorrhoid Pillow of Shame around his neck and will until the stitches come out. Have to get on the phone with the pet insurance today as they jacked the rates through the roof after the one payment they ever made.

The thing could NEVER stay in tune until I was looking at replacing the bridge and discovered a thing Clapton did to his guitars called "blocking the bridge". Has kept in tune for the past 6 years since.

I work on my own guitars, because I'm cheap, and I don't want to pay anyone to do it, and I have the time, and possibly the skills. Most things are intimidating the first time, and then you realize that guitars aren't rocket science. They're pieces of wood (mostly wood), put together with screws and simple geometry.

I have mostly cheap guitars--some built at home from used bailing wire and old furniture. Metaphorically.

I do dig Emily Robb a lot. Who wouldn't?
Would love to see Rosali, but I don't think I'll jump through all the hoops of Brooklyn Steel just to see her as an opener. Oh, and also we're seeing the Chats in Greenpoint that night!
fm Mike:
McGroovey:
The basic idea is, the truss rod counters the pull of the strings. If your strings, at pitch, are pulling on your neck and pulling so much that your neck bows, then you tighten the truss rod--generally no more than 1/4 turn. But if your neck is straight when your strings are tuned to pitch, then the problem isn't your truss rod (if there's a problem).

McGroovey -- they seem to have switched to app only for ticket delivery, so I'd have to find you or Manny or someone who'd also want to go. Plus, it's a TERRIBLE venue for shorter people, so it's hard on K8.

LesleyK, I called axs to ask if that were possible, and they told me no. I guess I could take the risk at some point and experiment? I know that Dice says that's how it works. I'll be finding out soon enough!
But axs is the new Ticketmaster, it seems like, and they don't seem to care about us the smartphone-less.
